Sherri

Trainer

Sherri was born and raised in Nepean, Ontario where she played everything from fastball, to flag football, to competitive swimming, golf, volleyball, basketball, hockey and lacrosse. She was a student at Brock University where she completed an undergraduate degree in Health Studies, with a minor in French, and a Master’s degree in Education, then she moved to OISE at the University of Toronto where she completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. Her time in university allowed her to play OUA Water-polo for Brock for five years, and to further develop her love of fitness – spinning, cross training, kickboxing, bootcamps, running and yoga. She is certified with CanFit Pro, she is Level 1 Thai Yoga certified with Navina, and she has worked in the fitness industry for 20 years. She is the mom to two amazing girls who she is so proud of academically, athletically and personally – both top students and competitive athletes in golf, hockey, and soccer, and both incredible role models in the community. When she is not at home and she is not teaching fitness classes, she is a team trainer and sports announcer in the OWHA, alongside her daughters and husband (coach), and she is a grade seven and eight teacher in Hamilton. Whether it’s in the role of a mom, of a teacher, or of a fitness partner, gratitude, balance, growth mindset and perseverance are four traits that shape who she is and what she believes in. Two of her favorite tag lines are, “Be somebody who makes everybody feel like a somebody,” and “Be the leader you would follow.” Each one of these quotes are the mantras she lives by every day. Positive encouragement, good role modelling, and creating safe spaces for challenge are what allow people to find and push their limits. Sherri is excited to share the walk to your edge with you!
